Hi, I’m Lana Pope, author of the Stuff I Wish I Knew…About Pregnancy series and Fitness and Exercise the Fun Way. Now that I have found my passion for writing I simply can’t stop and I have several more books underway. Aside from writing books I also love to blog about pregnancy, parenthood, fitness and anything else that I feel I simply must share with the world.

I post excerpts from my pregnancy books in the hopes of enlightening new and expectant parents as they embark on the wonderful journey to parenthood. In my fun fitness posts I invite you to join me on my fitness journey as I try to stay active and healthy amidst the chaotic lifestyle that is motherhood. I’m not one for spending hours in the kitchen but as a busy mom I’m always coming up with quick and delicious recipes which I’ll be sharing from time to time. I also love to shop and especially love searching for beautiful things for myself, my family and my home. Look out for my monthly wish lists to see what has caught my eye.

My Life…

I am a wife to an incredible husband and a mom to two beautiful kids. I grew up in the UK and have lived in the US, but am now happily settled in Canada. When I’m not writing or attempting to exercise I am spending time with my family and friends at home or traveling. I really dislike the gym and am slightly obsessed with dark chocolate.

Why I Write…

Inspiration for my debut books, the Stuff I Wish I Knew…About Pregnancy series, came from finding that lots of aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and having a newborn were simply not talked about enough. I found that parents were often shocked, surprised and dismayed by many discoveries on the way to having a baby. I wanted to provide new parents with a lighthearted take on the rollercoaster journey to parenthood.

My Fitness and Exercise the Fun Way book was inspired by my drive to stay active when I went back to work after having my two kids. As a diehard treadmill hater I struggled to find fun ways to keep fit and active while having fun. I wanted to share my journey and discoveries with others so that they too can enjoy staying fit and healthy without boring workouts.
